iOS & Android apps, from prototype to the app stores.
Indigo 42 is a Lincoln app development studio building mobile apps for businesses across Lincolnshire, the East Midlands and the UK. Joe has shipped apps to both stores, including apps for Fantasy Football Hub and three apps for Cre8tive Resources, and you work with him directly from the first sketch to launch.

What’s included
A prototype first
Before the full build, a clickable prototype to test the idea with real users and pin down exactly what version one needs.
One codebase where it makes sense
React Native and Expo run one codebase on iPhone and Android, which saves time and money. Native code where it matters.
Design people enjoy using
UX and UI designed in working prototypes rather than static pictures, so what you sign off is what gets built.
The back end as well
Accounts, payments, notifications, APIs and an admin area for your team, built and hosted properly.
App Store and Google Play
Store listings, release builds and the review process handled for you, with crash reporting in place from day one.
Kept working after launch
iOS and Android change every year. A support plan keeps the app updated, fixed and improving.
What an app costs
Across the UK, a first version of a business app usually costs £15,000 to £40,000, and a more complex app £40,000 to £80,000. Ours start at £3,000 for a simple first version, such as a companion app or a tool for your team, on both iPhone and Android.
The biggest cost drivers are user accounts and payments, the number of screens, connections to other systems, and the admin tools your team needs behind the app. If you want to test the idea before committing to a build, we can start with a clickable prototype, priced separately.

Apps for Lincolnshire & East Midlands businesses
Indigo 42 is based in Lincoln, so businesses in Lincolnshire and the East Midlands can meet the person building their app, from the first workshop to launch day.
The apps we build tend to fall into a few groups: customer apps for booking, ordering or loyalty; tools for staff out on the road or on site; and companion apps for an existing website or service. If yours doesn’t fit any of those, that’s fine too.
Need something people use in a browser as well? We also build web apps and the APIs behind them, so the app, the website and the admin tools can all come from one place.

Common questions
How much does an app cost?+
A first version of a business app starts at £3,000. The price depends on the number of screens, whether users log in or pay, what it needs to connect to, and whether it needs an admin area. You get a fixed quote once the scope is agreed.
How long does it take to build an app?+
A focused first version usually takes six to ten weeks, including design, build, testing and app store review. Starting with a prototype often shortens the build, because the big decisions are made early.
Do I need separate iPhone and Android apps?+
Usually not. React Native lets one codebase run on both, which costs less to build and maintain. If the app relies heavily on device features, we’ll tell you where native code is worth it.
Would a web app be better than a mobile app?+
Sometimes. If people use it at a desk, or you don’t need app store presence, push notifications or offline use, a web app can do the job for less. Web apps start at £3,000, and we’ll tell you honestly which fits.
Who owns the app and the code?+
You do. The app is published under your developer accounts, and the code lives in your repository. Nothing is locked to us.
Can you take over an existing app?+
Yes. We start with a short review of the code, hosting and store accounts, then tell you what state it’s in and what it would take to keep it running or improve it.
Do you work with businesses outside Lincoln?+
Yes. We’re based in Lincoln and happy to meet in person across Lincolnshire and the East Midlands, and we work remotely with clients across the UK.
